Case study : M&A advisory in South-East Asia

Our client, a global leader in the energy services segment with US $2.2 B revenue, was executing its global expansion strategy, which included South-East Asia as a target region. The client hired Michael Kats and his team to lead an engagement to manage M&A activities in the region.

We identified Indonesia as a strategic market for the client to build capacity, and developed a pipeline of potential targets, concluding a successful transaction within 9 months, which delivered over $12M impact to our client’s bottom line. Throughout the engagement, we managed the full spectrum of the M&A process, including: target sourcing, selection, managing due diligence, negotiation leadership, and shareholder agreement.

Following a successful acquisition, our client leveraged our expansive regional expertise to assist with the post-merger integration. We continued to support the client, ensuring all synergies were realized and the target was fully-integrated into the existing commercial platform.
