Our client was a German industrial company, focused on the steel segment with plans to expand into neighboring emerging markets to capture growth.

The client hired You & Me to determine its expansion strategy. During the engagement, we identified greenfield and brownfield sites to develop a manufacturing base in the Russian Federation. Our team coordinated with local government offices to provide support for the project, established local subsidiaries, and recruited executive personnel to lead the manufacturing operation.

Our client, a European manufacturer with US$1.8 B in revenue, had identified the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as a commercially attractive expansion market for their goods, which included pumps for hydro-power, river diversion, canal construction, irrigation, and pumping stations. The client had minimal previous exposure in the former CIS republics.
